The Two Witnesses

The two olive trees on the Mission Base represent the two witnesses in Zacharia and Revelation

We love Israel! This piece of ground is to us a reminder of God’s land Israel and His love that He bestowed on us through His Son and the nation of Israel. Father God has shown us that the two olive trees on the ground represent the Jews - (the olive tree) and the gentiles - (the wild olive tree).

The two trees grow into each other just as the Jew and gentile became one new man in Messiah, and being built up into a temple to the glory of God. Ephesians 2:14-22 For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition, having abolished in the flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility thereby. He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near. For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones, and of the household of God, being built on the foundation of the emissaries and prophets, Messiah Yeshua himself being the chief cornerstone; in whom the whole building, fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

The first thing we did, was to remove the fence that stood between the two trees as a prophetic act to remind us that Jesus broke down the wall of division that divided the Jews and the gentiles as described in Ephesians 2. This is also to remind us that we must embrace our brother Israel with the same love they (through God’s purpose) embraced us in sharing the Good News of salvation with us the gentiles. There is an unfortunate tendency in the body of Christ to disregard the Jews and Israel thereby disregarding Romans 11. The impact the Jews and Israel had on our lives by the spreading of the gospel in the world were by the divine design of Almighty God.

Jesus Christ said in John 4 that salvation is of the Jews. It is sad that part of the body of Christ has purposefully forgotten that Jesus our Messiah, Savior and the reason for the gospel was a Jew and His 12 disciples as well as Paul who were the very first disciples and evangelists of the gospel were of Jewish descend. This anti-semitism can be traced back to 70 AC when the Jews were chased from Jerusalem and flew to Antioch. Israel was used to reveal through Jesus Christ our salvation and will be used by God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob(Israel) to reveal His righteousness.

Israel today is a miracle country, the epicenter of the world and also the manifestation of God’s glory. Israel also was and will according to the Scriptures be used by God to reveal His glory and righteousness. Israel is a sign to the world of the God of Abraham,I saac and Jacob’s omnipotence, faithfulness and love. The land of Israel today proves the authenticity and authority of the Word.

Two thousand seven hundred (2700) years ago Ezekiel wrote in Ezekiel 34:12+13 As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad, so will I seek out my sheep; and I will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day. I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land; and I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited places of the country. Who would have thought 70 years ago that the Jewish people would have a country to call their own? The prophet Ezekiel wrote 2700 years ago spoke of a revived nation as a mighty army in Ezekiel 37:”The hand of the Lord was on me…and set me in the middle of a valley: it was full of bones. Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel, my people.I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone.I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land. I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel.” Word by word the prophecy made by Ezekiel came true. On 29 November 1947 the nation of Israel was born after the horror of the Holocaust symbolized by the valley of bones. Scattered for more than 2000 years, the Jewish people came from all over the world into this new state and made it and economic and military power. These two trees on the Mission Base is a reminder to us concerning all the mentioned. The Lord instructed us to put up an physical altar of 12 uncut stones between the 2 trees in order to remind us that we are called to be Watchmen over Israel to continuously bring Israel before the throne of God until her vindication shines out brightly and her salvation like a blazing torch and the nations will see her vindication and all kings her glory! Unfortunately this altar has been broken down, but we believe the Lord has called us to rebuild this altar for His name sake.
