Covenant Loyalty

Israel is God’s chosen people, through whom God has chosen to fulfill His plan of salvation for all the nations of the world, and it is found in Genesis 12:3. Jesus affirms it in John 4:22, “salvation is from the Jews.”

Paul said that the Old Testament is a shadow of things to come, which means that God’s plan of salvation for the world has been fulfilled through His Son Jesus Christ. Paul says in Ephesians 2:12-13 that we who were alienated from the citizenship of Israel and the covenants have now become part of it through the Blood of Christ.

The attack on Israel and anti-Semitism is an attack by the enemy on God’s plan and is aimed at undermining our faith in God and the Truth of His Word. As with the first sin, the enemy provoked Eve to doubt the truth of what God said. Likewise the enemy, provoke us not to believe the truth of God’s Word concerning Israel and His promises in order to rob us of our inheritance as contained in the promises to Israel.

The attack is directed at the Land God promised as an everlasting inheritance to Israel through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For if the enemy can convince people of the above, then our inheritance in Yeshua the Messiah and eternal life, is also in jeopardy. The bottom line is that if we doubt God’s everlasting covenant with his people Israel, then we can also doubt God’s everlasting covenant with us.

We should not be ignorant of the strategy of the antichrist, John said in 1 John 2:18 that the antichrist is already in our midst with reference to believers who have begun to doubt and have left the faith. The enemy’s strategy has always been to seduce us into doubting God’s Word and, consequently, His promises. Without faith, we can receive nothing from God, not even His promises.

Referring to the shadow as the Old Testament and the fulfillment in the New Testament, Paul explains in Romans 11:28-31 that we have received mercy through Yeshua the Messiah, so that we can show mercy to Israel by building a fence in the spirit around them as we intercede for them so that they can receive their full inheritance, as promised by God. Paul reminded us in Romans 11:12 “And if their fall is the riches of the world, and they lack the riches of the Gentiles, how much more will their fullness be!”

As it is written in Ezekiel 36:24-28 “And I will take you out of the nations, and gather you together out of all the lands, and I will bring you into your land. Then I will pour clean water on you, that you may become clean; from all your uncleanness and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and I will give you a new spirit within you; and I will take away the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and will cause you to walk in my statutes, and to keep and do my statutes. And you will dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you will be a people to me, and I will be a God to you.”

Remember, the whole Word is God-given, and if we want to believe it, we must believe it as a whole. If we can believe that God has redeemed us through the Blood of His Son Jesus Christ, then we must believe that God will redeem Israel as a whole, and that it is our privilege to bless Israel with love by proclaiming God’s perfect plan upon them as a nation.
