Raising a Banner of Truth

We, as followers of Jesus Christ have been empowered by the Holy Spirit to be a witness of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This requires that we are guided by the Spirit of Truth as Jesus said in John 15:26-27 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

But the enemy called by Jesus the “father of lies” deceive the world with a deceptive truth, as Paul writes in 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

In John 17:17 Jesus said that God’s Word is the truth. “Raising A Banner of truth” is based on the principle that the Truth is the standard that we aspire to achieve as we study God’s Word. We do it by allowing the Word of God to witness of itself as Jesus said that the Spirit will testify of Jesus, and we know that Jesus is the Word that became flesh. Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

When Jesus on trail in the court of Pilot and said that He came into the world to bear witness to the truth. Jesus said, as the Father have send Me so I AM sending you, to bear witness of the truth.

Today there is enormous effort to refute the Word of God as the Truth. In general understanding of the nature of man, we only try to refute the truth is we are in a sense guilty of a violation, why else do you try to explain that what is said is not what is meant. In reference to the account of Genesis when sin came into the world, the enemy used the same strategy, telling Eve that what God said is not what He meant. We today however know that God meant exactly what He said, do not eat from the tree in the middle of the garden, or else you would die. God in His love send His son so that we do not have to die for not listening in the first event, know the enemy, seeing that he succeeded the first time is still trying the same deceptive technique to draw us into his lie and the eternal death with him.

Raising a Banner of Truth, is our way of witnessing concerning the truth of God’s perfect Word. We do it based on the principle that the truth need not to defend itself, but rather witness of itself. The Word of God is a witness unto itself as the truth and all we do is to highlight that truths so that you the reader can know the truth and acknowledge that the truth of God’s Word will set you free from the deceiving lie of the enemy.

There is a saying that “Federal agents don’t learn to spot counterfeit money by studying the counterfeits. They study genuine bills until they master the look of the real thing. Then when they see the bogus money they recognize it.”
