Praise the Lord, the Land Rover did it first trip, we had to go to for wheel alignment at a tyre dealership who have the right wheel alignment machine, however as I got there I was informed that they cannot do it due to the one wheel bearing being worn. I had to order the wheel bearings from a part shop. While their I decided to phone a friend who have a workshop, to ask him how long will it take to drain and refill the 2 differentials, the gearbox and transfer box oil. I was surprised that he said a half an hours labour.
What I realized, was that we need one another.
The tyre dealership who could do the wheel alignment referred me to the part dealership to order the parts required for the wheel bearing. I can do the oil change, but it will take me much longer and I cannot do the wheel alignment since I do not have the required equipment. With the Land Rover as example, it is true that one person can do all things, but there is a major difference in effectiveness based on the various tool requirements.
The mentioned just once again made me aware of God’s call on His people, He call us to walk with Him, but we do not carry the toolbox we, as the Body of Christ is the tool box being prepared by God’s to be used by Him at His request for the job we have been recreated for in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Apostle Paul explained it in 1 Corinthians 12:4-14 “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills. For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many.”
Once we as the Body of Christ start celebrating our differences as we realized that God created us different to be used in His mighty hand according to His purpose, we will accomplice the task of the great commission more effectively to the glory of God.
I realized based on the mentioned that the Lord used the Land Rover, our transport to teach us, that we need to work together. Even though I have been blessed with the ability to do the tasks of maintenance on the car, we should focus on the tasked the Lord gave us, “Sharing His Love”.
Since we made that decision to trust other people to do their job we have been able to prepare for our job more effectively. We must remember, it is not a position, it is calling, as Paul said some have been called by the grace of God to be apostles, pastors, teachers, evangelist and prophets. But it is all by the grace of God, lets embrace our call and serve the Lord.
