Participating fellowship

1 John 1:3
that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us. Yes, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
The essence of the Gospel proclaimed by Jesus Christ the Son of the living God, is that through Him we have been redeemed so that we can walk in obedient fellowship with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.
Obedient fellowship with God is at the very heart of what it means to be a Christian. Christianity is not the observance of rituals or rules, it is a obedient walk of personal fellowship with the One and Only Living God, the Creator of Heaven and earth.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10

We receive a new recreated life in Christ Jesus, who redeemed us back into relationship with God as our Heavenly Father and made us part of God’s Household. As a child who trusts his earthly father, this new recreated life is directly connected to our prayer life, as we trust God to do the IMPOSSIBLE. Considering that the MOST SIGNIFICANT aspect of prayer is that it is not about us or our own inability, but all about God and his ability.

Prayer is a heavenly partnership with the Lord, where we surrender ourselves and our own inability into His hands trusting Him to do what only HE can do. In this partnership with God and His Son Jesus Christ, it is never about what we are prepared to invest within this partnership, or what we can do. Unlike any business related partnership, Jesus is not concerned about HOW MUCH, but a willingness to give, it is all about the ATTITUDE with which you give. Jesus gladly gave Himself for us not considering His position, but what He can gain.

Let us consider two heavenly partnerships, demonstrating what the Lord require from us.

The first partnership is the miracle of 2 fishes and 5 loaves. When Jesus asked the disciples to feed the 5000, He was not concerned about HOW MUCH the disciples could give, but their WILLINGNESS to give what they had. It is not the size of our faith that determines the outcome, it is IN WHO do we put our trust. The disciples brought 2 fish and 5 loaves and said ‘this is all we have’ and Jesus said, ‘it is enough’. God made all things through the power of His Word, and nothing we ask can be to a great for Him to accomplish.

The second heavenly partnership is about an old lady did not have any food to eat. She took the matter to the Lord, He then directed her to write her needs down on a piece of paper and to take it to the grocer. So she obeyed, but this grocer was not a believer. Trying to mock her, he told her to place the piece of paper on the weight end of the scale and to load food to the equivalent of the weight. The grocer did not know that her partnership was with the Lord and it came into effect the moment she in faith placed that piece of paper on the scale. She loaded all she needed without the scale tilting even a bit. Curious about what she wrote he opened the paper and read “Lord you know my needs”.

If you are willing to put your trust in the Lord, you enter into a partnership with the Lord. His perfect Word directs this partnership agreement. The Lord is always faithful, we just need to come in agreement with His perfect Word as we place our trust in Him.
