Strenght in weakness
Judges 11-16
Then the angel of the Lord came and sat beneath the great tree at Ophrah, which belonged to Joash of the clan of Abiezer. Gideon son of Joash was threshing wheat at the bottom of a winepress to hide the grain from the Midianites. The angel of the Lord appeared to him and said, “Mighty hero, the Lord is with you!” “Sir,” Gideon replied, “if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? And where are all the miracles our ancestors told us about? Didn’t they say, ‘The Lord brought us up out of Egypt’? But now the Lord has abandoned us and handed us over to the Midianites.” “Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!” “But Lord,” Gideon replied, “how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!” The Lord said to him, “I will be with you. And you will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one man.”
Let’s consider, what qualified Gideon? He knew and acknowledged that if the same God that was with Moses against Egypt, was with them, the enemy would not have been able to steal their harvest. He was humble enough to know his own inability as he placed his trust in God and God’s ability to do the impossible.
We are living in times where it seems that the enemy is stealing souls while the church is in hiding, protecting the harvest that they accumulated while the harvest that is standing white on the fields are being harvested by the enemy. We believe it is time for the Gideon’s to arise and take back what the enemy has stolen.
Are you in agreement with Gideon faith proclamation, and prepared to do what God asked of Gideon? To breakdown the altars of baal and rebuild a new altar in it place to the glory of God and His Son Jesus Christ.
Do you qualify to be a Gideon, bringing hope to a nation? Considering God’s ability and not your own inability or position within your community. As in Gideon’s story, God is not calling on the majority but rather on the minority who is willing to give the glory to Him, as they acknowledge that one plus God is a majority!
