The Revealed Love of Our Heavenly Father

It all began with the announcement of John the Baptist John 1:29 “… There is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world”!

The Lamb of God, our gift, was given out of the love of our Heavenly Father. It was a gift based in love with a tremendous price. The Lamb had to be sacrificed so that forgiveness could take place. Hebrews 9:22 And almost everything is cleansed with blood according to the law, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Paul further explains in Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves: this is the gift of God“. It is a gift that we cannot deserve, we can only receive it in the love in which it was given.

The gift is the Blood of Jesus Christ, as the Lamb of God that we received in faith and in recognition of our guilt, enveloping us with the love of our Heavenly Father. The Blood of Christ is like a spotless blanket that covers our filthy garment and thus makes us part of God’s Household. Paul describes it in Colossians 1:21-22 “Even you who were formerly alienated and hostile to evil works, He has now been reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to make you holy and without blemish and blameless before Him.”

The crucifixion was the means to the end, the revealed love of our Heavenly Father. However, love is something we much cherish in our daily walk. Love is like the Dead Sea, if it is not given out, it can stagnate and no longer give life. We have received this love and now we can also share it with the same excitement as when we first received it. Christ as our first love comes with a warning in Revelation 2:4-5: “But I have against you that you have forsaken your first love. Then remember where you fell out from, and repent and do the first works. Otherwise, I will come to you quickly and will remove your candlestick from its place if you do not repent”.

Today, we relive the first love we received in Christ Jesus, and we are reminded to daily share what we received as we live in the excitement and joy thereof.

Remember the 2 fishes and the 5 loaves, the disciples thought it wasn’t enough, but when they put it in the hands of Jesus Christ, with the words “that’s all we have”, Jesus took it, added His love and there was abundance.

Good Friday encourages us anew to share what we have received, even if you don’t feel it is enough. Don’t look at yourself and your own inability, but focus on Jesus and His ability to make the impossible possible!
