Consider Jesus and His ability.

Mark 6:51-52

And He went up with them in the boat. And the wind stopped. And they were very exceedingly astonished in themselves. For they did not understand (They failed to learn the lesson based on the feeding of the 5000. Matt 14:33.) on the  basis of the loaves-of-bread, but their heart had been hardened.

To understand what the disciples should have learned during the teaching of feeding the 5000, we should know what the teaching was about.

At first I thought that the teaching is simply that we and the disciples should learn that Jesus is who He said He is! However, one day, during the showing of the Jesus film I realized that Jesus want to teach us more. I believe that Jesus was preparing the disciples and us for the greater works He said we will do in His name.

The teaching is about preparing us to trust in Him and in His ability.

I received the revelation when I considered the questioned Jesus asked the disciples in Mark 6:38.  “And the One says to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go, see!” And having come-to-know, they say “Five, and two fish”.

Jesus was not concerned about what they or we have for we read in the bible in Hebrew 11:3By faith we understand that the worlds have been prepared by the word of God, so that the thing being seen has not come-into-being from things being visible.

Jesus taught us that if we consider Him and His ability, we need not to consider our own inability. In Christ Jesus, the question is not if we have enough, the question is are you willing to place whatever you have in His hand to use it for His glory.

The widow in 1Kings 17:3-5 “Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go and do as you have said; but make me of it a little cake first, and bring it out to me, and afterwards make some for you and for your son. For thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘The jar of meal shall not empty, neither shall the jar of oil fail, until the day that Yahweh sends rain on the earth.’” She went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, ate many days.
